Course Description: The keys to success are within your grasp. Project Management is a risk reduction approach based on quality control concepts to get a better result than would naturally occur if you just wrote a check for everything. Many self proclaimed project managers are mired in the trap of not knowing what they don’t know. It’s a “Chicken Vs. Egg” problem. The challenge is in implementing what you have learned. PMI® defines 42 processes for running a project. This would be of no benefit to your job performance unless the training included an easy to follow recipe of all 51 steps that are necessary for a successful implementation. CertTest strives to improve your performance and your mastery of the techniques to ensure PMI® becomes integrated in your project management tool kit.

- Initiating the project begins with cooperation from the sponsor for sufficient resources with the necessary authority to deliver results. Your sponsor sets the priorities while the communication plan keeps stakeholders informed.
- Managing project resources will require Monitoring and Controlling activities to stay within the project scope as promised, or have the signed change orders to deliver what is now expected.
- Planning and forecasting techniques are used to determine a budget and delivery time. The final plan is presented to the sponsor, along with the commitment from the project team.
- After the plans are approved, a project manager shifts focus to Executing concurrent activities to deliver the incremental results toward completion of the final deliverable. Monitoring and Controlling activities running in parallel will provide oversight to any discrepancies.
- During project execution specific items will be delivered, accepted as conforming, or rejected as non-conforming to the product specifications. Once accepted, each item is checked off during the Closing until everything has been delivered or removed from the project scope.
