Course Description:

The keys to success are within your grasp. Project Management is a risk reduction approach based on quality control concepts to get a better result than would naturally occur if you just wrote a check for everything. Many self proclaimed project managers are mired in the trap of not knowing what they don’t know. It’s a “Chicken Vs. Egg” problem. The challenge is in implementing what you have learned. PMI® defines 42 processes for running a project. This would be of no benefit to your job performance unless the training included an easy to follow recipe of all 51 steps that are necessary for a successful implementation. CertTest strives to improve your performance and your mastery of the techniques to ensure PMI® becomes integrated in your project management tool kit.

  • Initiating the project begins with cooperation from the sponsor for sufficient resources with the necessary authority to deliver results. Your sponsor sets the priorities while the communication plan keeps stakeholders informed.
  • Managing project resources will require Monitoring and Controlling activities to stay within the project scope as promised, or have the signed change orders to deliver what is now expected.
  • Planning and forecasting techniques are used to determine a budget and delivery time. The final plan is presented to the sponsor, along with the commitment from the project team.
  • After the plans are approved, a project manager shifts focus to Executing concurrent activities to deliver the incremental results toward completion of the final deliverable. Monitoring and Controlling activities running in parallel will provide oversight to any discrepancies.
  • During project execution specific items will be delivered, accepted as conforming, or rejected as non-conforming to the product specifications. Once accepted, each item is checked off during the Closing until everything has been delivered or removed from the project scope.
In order to receive effective training, one needs to be involved in actually performing these tasks in the exact order necessary for a repeatable implementation. Mind-numbing lectures and garish power points are inferior training tactics to a hands-on learning experience. While the certification material covers a basic understanding of vocabulary and some of the formulas, your boss wants results measured by improvement in your daily job skills and dramatic performance improvements for their investment. What good is your training if you end up reverting back to your old ways?

The number one problem facing project sponsors is that their PM was unable to implement the PMI concepts and techniques into a consistent unified manner. As a sponsor, why should the PM be trusted to generate better results unless the project leaders can at least demonstrate all the steps in a clear and concise recipe order of implementation? Project Managers and leads are responsible for providing this leadership. Otherwise the project teams and stakeholders are left uneasy with a feeling of being disconnected or disorganized. In reality many organizations lack a fully defined standardized sequence of step by step activities to guide consistent delivery.

That is precisely why CertTest is dedicated to teaching you how to use all 51 steps, including the PMI techniques in a simple yet easy to follow recipe for success. You will learn exactly what to do, how to do it, and what to avoid. These techniques are based upon thousands of hours and over twenty years of research in implementation.

Project Management requires a balancing act matching specific tasks with specific skills in order to be effective. The top performers in Project Management use these PMI® techniques. While anyone can claim the title of Project Manager, CertTest methods and training will put you in a league ahead of everyone else.

Why CertTest? The competitors focus on coaching you on questions and answers to pass the certification exam. Passing the exam alone is unlikely to improve your management skills. CertTest teaches you how to perform the PM tasks in a repeatable sequence. This results in both understanding the principles and truly knowing how to use them.

Our specialty is instilling the unique job skills necessary to perform in the roles of project manager, project lead, team member, or key contributor. Attendees benefit from learning the exact step-by-step recipe not included in the PMBOK® needed to generate the unnatural results which will gain favorable attention from management. Individuals participating in this training with a desire to be CAPM® or PMP® certified should have no trouble passing their exam. CertTest instills real do-it yourself skills that every PM should be able to accurately perform.
